Recently, I had the good fortune of contacting NorCal Refinishing to install a safe step in my bathtub. Being a senior and having a bad knee, it was difficult for me to climb over the side of the tub when I wanted to take a shower. Tim Roberts called me and set up a date the following week to do the installation. Tim was on time, personable, efficient and very neat. Because the tub previously had a glass shower door, he had to remove the metal frame before installing the safe step. When he was finished, the tub looked like new, and you could not tell where the old frame had been. I am extremely pleased with the job that NorCal did and would highly recommend them to anyone.

I just wanted to share with you my recent experience with the Safeway Tub Door and our installer Tim Roberts. My brother and I needed to find a way for our 88 year-old mother to safely get in and out of her tub to take a shower, but a bathroom remodel was too expensive and would take weeks to complete. Then, we found a video of the Safeway Tub Door and we contacted the company who referred us to our installer Tim. What a blessing! Tim was able to take the tub measurements over the phone (we also sent him a couple of pictures from our cell phone). He ordered the tub door and came out two weeks later to do the install. Tim called before he arrived, showed up right on time, and thoroughly explained the installation process to us. He was particularly kind and patient with my mom who is hard of hearing. He even had my mom show him where she likes to sit in her shower chair to make sure the tub door was positioned in exactly the right place! The installation took a few hours from start to finish. He was extremely tidy during the process and took great care in making sure no dust left the bathroom as he sawed the cast iron tub. When the installation was complete, he even made sure my moms safety bars were all tight and secure. After the 24 hour drying time, my mom used her tub door and LOVED IT. She said it was the most relaxed she felt taking a shower in years knowing that she wasn’t going to fall getting in and out of the tub.

Thank you Tim and NorCal Refinishing! You have truly made a difference in my mom’s life. We all feel so much better knowing she is safe bathing on her own. Plus, we saved literally thousands of dollars avoiding a full remodel! Awesome!

I have several disabilities (lymphedema in my legs) and with age I found it more and more difficult to climb in and out of the bathtub for showers. Our bathroom is very small and we looked into installing a walk-in shower in place of the tub – even though my husband prefers baths. Aside from the expense, the toilet would have to be removed in order to take out the tub so that wasn’t workable. My neighbor told me about the Safeway Step and it was the perfect solution to our problem! Tim Roberts of NorCal Refinishing came out and with charm and attention to detail, installed the step in just a few hours. We love it! No more fears or high steps for a shower! And my husband still gets to take his baths.

My father, who will be 88 years old in May, was in need of a bathroom modification that would make it easier for him to access the shower. After exploring complete bathroom remodeling, I was made aware of the Safeway Safety Step. Upon showing interest in the product, we were connected with Tim Roberts at Norcal Refinishing. From the onset, Tim was very responsive to our questions regarding the product and the installation thereof. After exchanging several emails and a few phone calls, we decided to go with this product instead of the complete bathroom remodel, based on Tim’s knowledge, information, and advice. The step was ordered and the installation date, and time, set. Tim arrived on time with the product in hand. The installation took approximately 3 1/2 hours. Upon completion, the work area was meticulously cleaned and the bathroom restored to its original state. Tim made sure that we understood when the shower could be used and left us an information packet that included, among other information, the cleaning instructions for the new step.
